Bedford Head – Thea Hale

Apologies for the delay…

After a frustrating result at St Neots Head, which saw us lose out to our main rivals by 6 seconds, we were determined for a better result at Bedford Small Boats Head. We had worked hard with Miss Bruce through the week on our race plan and we were excited to see what we could achieve.

As we headed up to the start there was a mixture of excitement and nerves throughout the boat. The adrenaline kicked in and we got off to a good start. Coming out of Town Bridge we overtook a women’s four which gave us the push we needed to the Suspension Bridge. Here we were met with loud cheering which together with Anya’s brutal coxing lead us into the final part of the race. We pushed on under Butterfly Bridge to finish well.

Happy with how the race had gone we were anxious to see the results. Racing in division 2 we had a long wait but half-way through the day we discovered we had beaten our main rivals. The final results saw us missing out on a win by 2 seconds. We are now determined to improve and get some wins.

Well done to everyone that competed on Sunday and good luck for the next event.
